So, it now gives me great pleasure to announce that I have made an official return the Helen O'Grady Cambs-Herts family!! I have taken over Bassingbourn once again and Linton as the wonderful Juliette has had many exciting opportunities arise for her in her own businesses and is looking to be taking off around the world! I am also team teaching Hitchin with the amazing Lucinda and will take over the studio as of September. And in my own little venture I am also launching the Bishops Stortford Studio in September, to spread the drama love in my area. I feel like I have come home and want to thank Lucinda, Jess, Beau and Amy for all their support as colleagues and friends!! (Dear me, us drama types do get emotional don't we?!)
It is all go go go at the studios now as we have our last few rehearsal weeks before our Performances. Linton Upper Primary are in fine form with their 'Bold Buccaneers', some wonderful little pirates aboard that there studio, and Youth Theatre had me in stitches with their play within a play 'Dress rehearsal Disaster'. Some wonderful larger that life characters in that performance, we are just all finding it hard to not giggle throughout. Bassingbourn's Lower Primary 'Sword in the Stone' is shaping up beautifully, with some beautiful voice work from all so well done, and Upper Primary, also swashbuckling with 'Bold Buccaneers' have got some great characterisation and our sailors have been experimenting with different regional accents. Linton and Bassingbourn both perform on Sunday 14th June at Comberton Village College.
I'm off to Hitchin Studio this afternoon where I will be attending 'The Wedding' with Lower Primary, and Upper Primary are 'Rent a Crowd', on hand to boost the atmosphere at any event, for the right price of course. Lucinda has been working them very hard and both groups are really coming along so looking forward to seeing them. Hitchin perform Saturday 6th June at Etonbury.
The whole of the Helen O'Grady Cambs-Herts academy is filled with excitement on the build up to the performance weeks and I'm so happy to be back in the heart of it all!! Break a leg one and all!!
