To most it was just another day, but to the staff of HO'G Cambs and Herts it was a very special day indeed..... A day when they would get closer than they ever thought possible to real, and plastic people!
Yes, you guessed it, it was our Paediatric First Aid Training Course!
Armed with various Danish pastries for sustenance and a few gallons of water, Jessica and I met with Amy, Will, Rachel and Louise (the delegates), and the wonderful Karl (our unsuspecting trainer for the day!)
Little did Karl know that spending the day in a confined space with drama teachers would nearly send him to the edge!
Amy was the star pupil of the day with some extremely intelligent input....followed closely by the rest of us, of course!
We had an incredibly informative and generally great day. Much laughter and tears and reality shocks ensued. I will be forever scarred by Karl allowing my big sister to put me in the recovery position....I'm sure she wouldn't be that rough with a real patient!!
All joking aside, we covered so many aspects and scenarios including, bruising, burns, asthma, diabetes, nose bleeds and shock, and we all feel fully ready should any of our new skills be called upon, in class , in public or at home.
Rest assured, your children are in extremely safe hands during their Drama classes. We are constantly striving to make sure we are, without doubt, the best providers of developmental Drama in the area, with the added reassurance of great care and attention from every single one of our staff members.
Thank you for your encouragement and support.
